With today’s technology, even older, damaged, or just plain worn-out concrete floors can be transformed through our combination of grinding, treating, sealing, and polishing techniques.
Our polished floors can be tailored to your specification — virtually any combination of durability, sheen, aesthetics, ease of maintenance, safety concerns, and resistance to a wide variety of potentially damaging agents and circumstances.
We’ll evaluate your floor’s condition and work with you to find the solution that best fits your needs and budget.

Concrete Floor before Polishing

Concrete Floor after Polishing
We can color-dye your floors, provide decorative flourishes, and put down safety and traffic markings, as desired.
Top Quality Concrete Polishing Equipment and Products
We use polishing equipment (grinders, cutters, polishers, buffers, etc.) and products (filing compounds, hardeners, densifiers, color dyes, sealers, etc.) made by industry leaders, like Husqvarna, HTC, Ameripolish, and Ardex.

Appropriate for a Wide Variety of Commercial and Industrial Applications
Polished concrete’s durability and low maintenance have made it an exceptional finish for retail stores, restaurants, warehouses, manufacturing plants, offices, and schools. These smooth, high-sheen floors imitate the look of high-priced stones like granite and marble, yet offer years of service at a fraction of the cost.
Benefits of Polished Concrete Floors
Concrete has long been known for its durability and cost-efficiency. Thanks to recent advances in flooring technology, commercial and industrial property owners can profit from these and other benefits of modern concrete floors.

Durable
Polished concrete floors are ground, densified, and sealed to be foot-and-machine-traffic friendly, as well as resistant to: chemical damage; stains from paints, oils, and other liquids; impact traumas; and changes in temperature and moisture. And they’ll maintain their lustrous beauty for years to come.

Beautiful
An astonishing variety of color dyes can be integrated into the existing concrete surfaces. The floors can be burnished to a range of finishes, from high-gloss to matte, and finished to expose light-to-heavy aggregates. In addition, a limitless variety of decorative finishing touches can be added to customize your floors. The result: a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, signature floor.

Safe
The uniform surface of polished concrete provides a smooth, stable platform for foot and machine traffic, helping prevent accidents. Anti-slip aggregates can be incorporated into the surface. We can add traffic pattern and safety markers to protect your customers and your employees.

Environmentally Friendly
Our work reuses an existing product — your slab. We grind your floor on-grade, and eliminate the need to buy expensive, new floor coverings or regularly replace worn out floors. Our floor treatment products are low VOC (volatile organic compounds), and create no hazardous waste. McLean Flooring Solutions is a member of the Green Building Council.

Easy to Maintain
Polished concrete floors are virtually maintenance-free; all they need is an occasional damp mopping or buffing. Because they don’t need stripping and waxing, grout restoration, special cleaning tools and products, or other costly routine maintenance, you save on both labor and materials.

Cost-effective
Polishing your concrete floor is affordable, especially when compared to adding a new floor. Polished concrete needs little maintenance, saving money from the start. Additionally, polished concrete floors can create high light-reflectivity, providing a bright, clean look to your facility, without the need for extra, costly overhead lighting. Studies show that highly reflective polished concrete floors can decrease your electricity bill.

Industrial Finish – Polished Concrete Floors
MFS’s Industrial Finish yields a low-gloss finish that’s customizable for a wide variety of industrial floors. This finish is engineered primarily for large, indoor areas — assembly areas, warehouses and distribution centers, department stores, office areas — where floor functionality and durability are of primary concern. It yields a durable, low-maintenance floor providing a safer, cleaner environment with a low lifetime cost.
Principal Benefits
- Withstands the toughest use — resistant to impact, thermal shock, abrasion, and wear
- Safe, smooth, slip-resistant surface
- Resistant to spills, chemicals, oils, dust, and other contaminants
- Easy — and inexpensive — to clean and maintain
- Environmentally friendly
- Low lifetime cost
Overview of Process
- Clean and prepare the old surface — wet the existing surface, apply filler and decontaminating products, and grind the surface with diamond grinders.
- Apply densifying and hardening products.
- Polish with ceramic tools.
- Repolish the surface with increasingly fine-grained pads until a sharp reflection appears on the surface.
- Apply color dyes, safety and traffic markings, and any other aesthetic enhancements.
- Apply two to three coats — allowing drying time between coats — of a penetrating sealer to block potential contaminants.
- Allow to cure — minimum of one hour — and buff to achieve the final finish.
Commercial Finish – Polished Concrete Floors
MFS’s medium-gloss Commercial Finish works best on semi-exposed and low-exposure aggregate floors. It’s engineered for indoor spaces, including retail areas, shop fronts, and public spaces. This finish yields a floor that’s durable and needs minimal maintenance, yet is easy on the eye and the budget.
